Driftwood Surfboards Project - 22/06/2011

Dave from Driftwood surfboards approached us here at Seabase to finish his hand crafted wooden surfboards (real surfboards I add which are meant to be surfed).   This is our first order of boards that were finished last week and they are real gems.

Now residing in Cornwall the 28 year old Scotsman is now set on a new path to produce sustainable hollow wooden surfboards and offer people the chance to be involved in the shaping process of their very own customised board.  After recognising his talents we wanted to get the lowdown on his future plans and the reasons behind his new project.

"The main aim of mine is to set up a workshop to help people build their own board and appreciate the feeling of surfing a craft they have built themself and enjoy the journey of the build."

The next project we are working on is a range of 'Quiver' Surfboards with custom shapes.  Keep your eye out for these which will be ready beginning of August.
