Factory Returns & Second Quality Surfboards:

Seabase has a very high reputation for producing top-quality surfboards for many famous brands. We make surfboards for a number of end users throughout Europe. All of the Seabase board offered on web sites and in shops are guaranteed first quality. However....

From time to time we mess-up. The shaper makes a 6’02” only 6’01” long, the glasser puts on three layers of glass when the customer wanted a lightweight performance board; the shaping machine slips at the last minute; we used Polyester Resin when it should be Epoxy; the sprayer’s shade of green was too British Racing for the German customer; maybe the board had the old Futures system fitted rather than the newer F3 system – things happen daily.

 
If our customer rejects that board, you might get a real bargain. Some are repaired boards after slight damage in factory. Some are returns from non-payers or recovered bankrupt stock, or from orders that haven’t been paid in full. A few have been rejected by our strict quality control for some minor blemish, or because it didn’t meet spec. Unlike other manufacturers, we don’t have a retail outlet for these boards so you get real bargains....

These then are our Factory Returns or Factory Seconds offered on our site.  All of them are guaranteed 100% structurally sound, and 100% fit for purpose.  There might be cosmetic defects, but we promise you would not even notice most of them. Even so, every board describes the reason why it’s on the site. If there’s no explanation, buy the board with confidence anyway. It’s probably a cancelled order with no reason given. Then there's our:

Factory Used Surfboards:

Real bargains. We never take trade-ins but get a lot of boards used in our testing programme, or boards returned from our sponsored riders as they upgrade or progress. Some are repaired, watertight, and structurally sound, but not guaranteed. Some need repairs and we'll tell you what needs doing. Buy with confidence though – we stand by even our used boards.
